Returns & Refunds Policy:

Look, we want you to love what you buy from us. But running a family garden center for over 30 years has taught us a few things about what works and what doesn’t. Here’s the straight story on our policies:

Plant Returns:

Got a plant problem? Bring it back with your receipt, and we’ll take a look. We can’t take returns on anything that’s been planted in the ground—once it’s in your soil, it’s yours.

Plants are living things—we sell healthy plants, but we can’t control what happens after they leave here. Your soil, watering habits, where you plant them, and the Triad’s crazy weather all play a part. We’re not responsible for plants that struggle once you take them home, but we’ll absolutely help you figure out what went wrong and what might work better next time.

Seasonal changes—that gorgeous flowering shrub in spring might look like a bunch of sticks in winter. That’s normal—not dead, just dormant.

Size variations—Plants grow when they want to grow. What you see today might be bigger or smaller next week.  Nature doesn’t follow schedules.

NC weather—Our North Carolina weather throws curveballs. Unexpected freezes, heat waves, drought, and storms—we can’t be responsible for natural conditions.

(30 days max on trees, shrubs, and perennials—bring your receipt and plant tags; 7-14 days for annuals and veggie plants (they’re more fragile); The plant needs to still be in the original container, or you need to show us it was planted correctly; We can’t take back anything that died because you didn’t water it or plant it.)

Garden Supply Returns:

Tools and pots—30 days if they’re unused with original packaging. We can tell if you’ve been digging with that shovel, so don’t even try it.

Fertilizers and chemicals—30 days, but they’ve got to be sealed and unopened. Once you crack that bag open, it’s yours.

Soil and seed bags—Unopened bags receive a 30-day guarantee. Opened bags are final sale.

Seasonal items—shorter return windows because nobody wants Christmas decorations in February.

Bulk Materials Returns:

No returns on bulk materials—once we’ve dumped soil, mulch, gravel, or sand at your place, it’s yours. Measure twice, order once.

Delivery measurements—We measure by the scoop or truckload. Materials settle during transport, so exact measurements aren’t always possible. We get as close as we can.

Natural materials change—color and consistency vary from time to time. Mulch, topsoil, and stone come from nature, not a factory. No two loads look identical—that’s just how natural products work.

Scoop variationsOur scoops hold about the same amount, but wet mulch takes up different space than dry mulch. Natural materials don’t pack the same way every time.

Exchanges:

Plant exchanges—If you bought the wrong plant or changed your mind, we can usually work out an exchange as long as the plant’s still in good shape and you’ve got your receipt. We’re not running a plant library, though—exchanges need to happen within a reasonable time.

Product exchanges—Tools, pots, fertilizers, and other garden supplies can typically be exchanged if they’re unused and in original packaging. Just bring your receipt.

Bulk material exchanges—Once bulk materials leave our yard, they’re yours. We can’t exchange dirt, mulch, or gravel that’s already been delivered.

Shipping & Returns:

We don’t ship—we’re a local garden center, not an online retailer. Everything gets picked up here or delivered locally. No shipping plants or bulk materials across the country.

Local delivery only—our delivery trucks stay within about 10 miles of High Point. If you’re further out, additional charges apply. Please visit the online store for more info.

Returns on delivered items—If we delivered something and there’s a real problem with it, call us right away. We need to know about issues within a few days, not weeks later.

Sale and Clearance Items:

Clearance is final—discounted and clearance stuff is usually final sale unless something’s genuinely wrong with the product.

The Fine Print:

Don’t wait forever—if something’s wrong, tell us soon after you buy it. We can’t fix the problems you mention months later.

Limited warranties—Any warranties we offer just cover replacing defective products. We’re not covering other damages or losses.

Liability limits—Our responsibility maxes out at what you paid for the product. We’re not covering indirect damages or lost profits.

Stock and Pricing:

Popular stuff sells out—we try to keep good inventory, but popular items disappear fast during busy seasons.

Rain checks available—if we’re out of something advertised, we’ll give you a rain check for the sale price when we can.

Prices change—garden supply prices go up and down with seasons, weather, and market conditions. We update as fast as we can, but there’s sometimes a lag.

Bottom Line:

We STRONGLY advise an in-person visit to our garden center to assure materials meet customers’ expectations.

These policies cover all sales at Soviero’s Tri-County Garden Center. We might update them when needed. Questions about returns? Call us at (336) 885-3800 and let’s talk.
